What Our Readers Say About Us?
Great book!!!!! Received it today and couldn't put it down till I finished it. I found out about your book while listening to Charlie on a podcast. I could listen to your stories all day. Best of luck to you Sir I really enjoyed the read.
I just got done reading your book cover to cover I read it from 8pm
to 2am I couldn't put it down by far one of the best books I've read. That part about forcing Charlie to put a shirt on and the nuns had me laughing harder than I should have at 1 in the morning thank you for the fantastic read.
This guy could read the phone book and I would be sitting on the floor crossed legged listening so carefully. He has a way of story telling.
Just got done reading your book.
Enjoyed the history and the stories told. l've heard stories all my life about jumping the fence and dealings with the King Ranch on outlaw hunting and other sketchy stuff not associated with hunting.
I've only seen part of your country by way of the icw while traveling on towboats from Corpus to Brownsville. And a little bit by highway from Harlingen back Houston for crew change. Always wanted to take time and drive around and look but never have and with fuel so high dang sure ain't gonna try it now.
Hope you write another
Hey buddy love the stories and love how much you are devoted to autism and your daughters
foundation! I just saw you were in the studio doing your audiobook any ideas when that will be finished (can I pre order) | really love the way you tell the story and your voice.. I know old Charlie is
working on part 2 but hope maybe he can do an audio book as well. The way you guys tell stories together blows me away. Keep up the stories and your knowledge of the history adds to everything. Again please let me know if I can preorder because I have listened to every podcast over and over again.
Hi Mr. Pat, I just listened to your whole book and I must say it is a work of art. I could sit on a porch and listen to you tell these stories all day long. In fact I am getting ready to restart it to listen again.
It reminds me of listening to my grandfather before he passed away. I also feel like you can only get a feel for the story when the author is narrating because you can really feel his emotions through his voice!
Honored to get the follow sir. I really love your book sir. Thank you doing what you did.
Incredible. My grandpa came trom an outlaw family. 2 of his brothers died running moonshine in North Carolina. They were running from the revenuers and tried crossing the slightly frozen late December cape fear river. This was in the early 1930s. I named my son after my Paw Paw. Your stories remind me so much of his. Tough. Old School.
You could and should be doing Audio book voiceovers also sir.
Untapped talent in there. There's an authenticity to your voice that lends itself to storytelling.
Love to hear your stories. Those were good old days
Love hearing all your interesting stories! Thank you for sharing.
I finally got the audio book and partner I have listened to that book over 5 times and loved it. The history you started with was extremely interesting.
Please post more stories on YouTube I can only watch the same ones so many times๐๐
Forgot to tell you that got your book on audible. On my second round. Hope you both keep telling the stories before the are gone. I can relate to all the stories.I am blessed as you, still have my 94 yr old dad and 90 yr mom. Here the deer belongs to the state til harvested or at least it was that way a few yrs ago. When we hunted Lincoln National Forest you got a deer, turkey and bear tag and was open on lions for around 100 bucks.
Hunted 75 thru 79. Now I am 67 and seen alot of gov / politics changes. My grandfather who passed in 1983 at 73 said farming went to shit when the government got their hands in it. Thanks
Me and my friends agree.. you should narrate Charles Beatty's book for Audible.
You could definitely do voice over work sir.
Hey Mr Lane I just wanted to tell you l love listening to your stories and it's fun for me because I spent a lot of time down in Carrizo Springs growing up and I can relate a little to you and Charles Beatys stories.
Keep up the great work y'all are doing fantastic!
Love your great stories, Lane. I just don't think I would have survived the rattlers jumping fence on Uncle OConnors and the Welder around Refugio outside the cold weather

Hey Pat,
I got your book, my wife ordered it for me.
You have had a hell of a lot of fun!!!
More than one man should. I couldn't quit
reading after I started. Been laughing the entire time too.
I was really surprised how crooked those big
ranchers were (probably still are).
You're a
hell of a story teller. If you write another one
I'll be the first inline to buy it!
Thank you
Hi, am the farmer from Hartford Al that spoke with you back a couple weeks ago, that use to hunt in NM in 70s. I enjoy your podcast you a great story teller. Wanted to suggest you do cd s of your life stories kinda like Dale Lee did. Now for the most important question. How can I send a check to your daughter ? Your friend Charles Beaty sent me a free book so I want to give to her dream because of CB s kindness.
Dam good one to brother I drive a lot so l got the audio book once I started it I couldn't stop listening to it really enjoyed listening it Mr. Pat
You are absolutly right about everything you said....the same thing on some scale and form has happened in every state in the union...god bless the outlaws that saw the light of how our game and fish have been stolen and parceld out to those that have money and left most of us just scraps...price on everything and growing! I was and still am an outlaw and will get meat when i need it...i will as long as i live and as long as the rich rule the wildlife we all used to be able to enjoy! I never harvested any animal i didnt eat...except preditors that needed controlled! A man has the right to fresh wild game for his family!
AWESOME BOOK SIR. I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN KINGSVILLE TEXAS, STILL LIVE HERE. I AM 51 AND YOUR STORIES ARE SO FRIGGIN INTERESTING. MY INLAWS ARE FROM RIVIERA TEXAS.
